Today my father introduced me to the work of the photographer that I've wanted to be all my life without knowing his work. Ok, maybe there are a lot of photographers I've wanted to be: Carl Shmolz Henri Cartier Bresson, Alvin Langdon Coburn, etc. But this is another to add to the list. Maisel's ability to use color and composition is what I strive to learn with every photograph I take. Combine that with a wonderful sense of in-the-momentness and I'm hooked. You can see more of his work at JayMaisel.com
By the way, in case you were wondering (like me) if there was any relation to Steven Meisel, there isn't. Their last names are spelled differently.
