Now I know that most fashion publications are not going to list 'Witch House' as one of the trends from the Spring/Summer 2012 collections, but I think that is only because they do not know what Witch House is. It is a truly a shame too, they could have quite a bit of fun with it! Either way Lace, sheer, whatever this (Witch House) aesthetic is being called, Peter Dundas knew what he was doing with Pucci this season. That being said, I think it is fair to say that someone may be watching a bit too much Twin Peaks (whether that ‘someone’ is Dundas or myself, I am not really sure, it could be both!).
Looking at the images from the Pucci show reminded me of a fading Americana idea of the ‘cool girls’. The kind you would see in a 1950s timepiece, where cheerleading is still cool and where girls wear bobby socks because that is the only option. To illustrate this idea for you I made you the witch house version of these ‘cool girls’. Daphne is in the middle because she is the coolest of the cool girls AND she is in all white, which means she is innocent on the outside but totally horrible on the inside. I think that is how that whole good girl/bad girl thing works out, right?
Pucci was not the only Witch House looking collection this season either, have you been to style.com? I feel like I am at a Salem show, except everyone is fashionable, no one is on ketamine, and I am not listening to Salem (with the exception of a few songs), which is my sort of Witch House.
Music and fashion go hand in hand so here is a song by Salem that I DO like for you! I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday! Later!
