Cuckoo for Kako

Flipping through old (ok, fairly recent, but not brand new...) issues of Communication Arts I came across the work of Kako, an illustrator and graphic designer from Brazil. Kako creates sheeny illustrations that are a welcome sight to modern eyes. They override the leaning of digital illustration towards flat dead images through his use of smaller detailed forms which give the images more of an enegetic textured feel while acknowledging their departure from the analog past. The first three images from this post are all part of Kako's editorial work, and the second three are graphics created for the web.
