The East Side Studio

The most cliche, comfortable late afternoon light streams in through the west facing window causing an abstract reflection on the door as I walk back into the room. The northern wall is filled with an assortment of post-cards, photographs, collages, and miscellanea, the irregular tesserae in full power granted by the long, leaning shadows. Tycho's album Past is Prologue is murmuring from my computer speakers, just loud enough to cover the buzz of New York City below. I have to grab the camera, this moment, this feeling must be recorded. Its been a tough day of work so far, the kind where beginning any task seems unsurmountable and you feel like your time would be better spent lying entangled in a comforter and sheets. Still, we've made it this far, and the looming deadlines overhead have been made less menacing through persistence. The work has only just resumed, having been halted for a late lunch, followed by a brief meander through the endless tunels of the internet. This is the final stretch though, we've made it past the wall. From here it is just one solid session until a night of relaxation, a chance to recouperate so that tomorrow we may begin the battle anew...
Ah, what am I doing writing this... I have to get back to work.
