The theme for our next issue is Ghosts & Witches. I know this may seem like an odd theme seeing as we are approaching Spring but we think that this season's soft pastels have their place in the whimsy ideas and images that society has created for these dreamlike and other worldly figures. Their is a playfulness in this theme that we find quite fitting for Spring time (Sasha Pivovarova in the picture above says it all).

Sasha Pivovarova for Club Monaco Spring 2012

I know these photographs are old news, but being the Vovaraholic that I am I still think it is completely relevant. When I first saw the images I was too excited but I was without a computer. At the time I decided that even considering making a blog post about these pictures was out of the question seeing as they would probably be posted on a lot of other blogs by the time I was back with my computer. Even though they are already posted on many other blogs I still cannot help but post them. I blame it on my Vovarholism, which is a real thing! It is a fashion disease or something like that. Either way, Sasha looks so beautiful and completely fairy like in these whimsical photographs and her positivity and light truly shine through!

Sasha Pivovarova for Gap Body
Being the Vovarholic that I am, I was more than excited when I found out that Sasha Pivovarova was doing a collaboration with Gap Body. This bra is one of the two things I picked up from the collection. It is so comfortable and soft, I definitely recommend it to anyone! It is so perfect! You can make like a fairy too and buy it here.

Models as Brides like Kate Moss by Mario Testino but not
Mario Testino's amazing pictures of Kate Moss and her wedding (which if you have not seen you can see them here) for whatever reason inspired me to look at all of the other photographs that were saved on my computer of models as brides (none of which were actually saved because they were of models as brides). Unlike the photos of Kate, which show Testino's abilities as a photographer in a way I had not seen before, all of the photos showing models as brides have this odd unromantic and humorous feeling to them. I like these two a lot, they make me laugh.

Inspiration: Purple
To keep with the purple theme try listening to one of our favorite summer mixes: Drankenstein by Bird Peterson. You can download it here.
