Two takes on the classic jeans with a white t-shirt look

On Sunday, as I was getting ready (having decided on jeans and a white t-shirt), I had to decide what would prevent the classic from looking mundane, and at the same time I had to keep focus on keeping it classic.

I am not one to be extreme when it comes to my everyday look (The city does not totally allow it, especially with this april weather. Also, in a place where everyone is trying to be different, using clothing as the medium, everyone ends up looking the same and wearing a classic look is beyond refreshing) but at the same time, the thought of wearing something that I find to be boring makes me feel clinical and actually makes me want to cringe.

I have come up with a way of wearing a classical look in an updated way. It is a formula almost. Example: take a classic 'preppy' top like a polo or an oxford, pair it with skinny jeans, add a blazer or a vest (if you are wearing a polo you might want to stay away from a vest), add an ultra 'preppy' piece of jewelry like diamond or pearl earrings, a subtle pendant, and wear a wedge/chunky heel/small heeled ankle boot (if the boot is flat and a little elven looking it can totally ruin the look)/gentleman's slipper and the result will be a balanced refined polished look. However, when it came to creating my take on the all american jeans and a white t-shirt look I was initially confused. I have a fear of looking like a cowgirl, that whole look is truly discomforting, so I had anxiety. I like the looks I came up with. I ended up wearing the look with the gentleman's slipper as I am a little obsessed with them at the moment.

Thursday

I have not been able to update the blog since Thursday for many reasons. The internet is not always working so well, we have been out shooting, and I have been catching up on some much needed sleep.
Here are some pictures from Thursday. The first one is of horses on my street. The second and third pictures are of the candy we got at the new Swedish candy store on my street. The fourth picture is of me. The fifth picture is of Jordan hiding behind his shirt.

Today Jordan and I registered for classes and after we went outside to do a shoot. He went to work and I fell asleep for the day. Now he is back and I am organizing my wardrobe.
