NARS

When it comes to makeup the design of the packaging and the design of the product's container, both should be on par with the actual product. I think NARS does a lovely job with carrying out their concept  and style. What I am trying to say is, Jordan and I went to the NARS flagship store for the first time the other day (even though it is literally five minutes or less away).

Sunday Style

Here is my outfit from Sunday when Jordan and I went to some museums. I got the chance to wear my new bag from Cheap Monday for the first time. It holds everything and is comfortable too. If you are looking for the perfect bargin bag that is a tote/shopper then I would look no further. You can get it here. On a different note, it is hot again, which prevents my sweater wearing agenda from going as planned. I figure it is around the time that I should be wearing knits and even possibly a leather jacket. I am starting to think that I pulled out my pairs of Wolford leggings a bit too soon!

Top: Acne; Shorts: LF; Boots: Stevens; Bag: Cheap Monday; Bracelet: Hermes;

Sunday

Despite the fact that I probably look as sleepy as I do in this picture from the other night, Jordan and I are about to go uptown to a couple of museums. The rest of the day will be spent working, at least it is warm today! Although I am pretty excited to pull out my winter accessories again! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Later!

Yesterday morning when I woke up I had a couple of packages. I will show you what I got soon!

Jordan and I got back into the city today and have not had much time to settle in. Just as I was finishing unpacking most of my things I was already packing a couple of outfits to take to Jordan's for a couple of nights! Also school has started and I am already doing assignments! I am nervous but excited to start this next term. And now that we are back in the city we have a lot of work to do, outfits to plan, etc., which is so exciting as well! I think it might be time for me to go to bed! Later!

10.8.11

Currently I am sick, which means I am not able to do much other than appreciate the simple things like Diptyque candles, the internet, hotel style waffle bathrobes, Apple TV/Netflix, HGTV, and the fact that I have already planned my outfits for LA. And strangely enough I am enjoying the time I have to just think and find new inspiration. Later!

Acne T-Shirt Frye Ankle Boots Bag from Accessorize

Today I had a meeting with the lovely people from Accessorize, they were nice enough to gift me this bag that I had tweeted about! Thank you to everyone from Accessorize, especially M!
Later in the day I went back to their store with Jordan and picked up another ring and some bangles. The store is at the corner of my street, this might become a problem...

07122011

The DMM team has been on a little vacation after we put out the last issue of the magazine. Both of our parents came up (with the exception of my mum who was visiting my grandparents), which was fun for so many reasons. Our parents even met for the first time (Mum we were all sad you were not there)!
My Father and I wandered all over Manhattan one day, stopping in Soho, wandering my neighborhood, dashing up town for a trip to Barneys for drinks, people watching wherever we stopped, it was such a good time! I am happy to say that my Dad even took a liking to Acne and when we visited the store in Soho. He picked up a this beyond cool, completely unique tie for some weddings he has to go to. I swear it will be the most stylish tie at those weddings. It totally beats those Hermès ties with the sail boats/horses/animals on them! Hopefully I will be making some outfit posts soon! Later!

I wonder if Flying Lotus liked my outfit

Tonight I was supposed to go with Jordan to see Shlohmo and others but once again we decided that I should stay in and study for a test that I have on Monday. I thought I would take a break and do an outfit post.
 On Thursday Jordan and I went to Brooklyn to see Flying Lotus, which was amazing. Thursday afternoon I was a little freaked out because I had no idea what to wear to a show in Brooklyn when there was a chance of rain on a hot day. Finally after a couple of outfits and I decided on a top from Rag & Bone, a pair of black Hudson jeans (I made a last minute decision and changed into cotton shorts when I was getting ready), ankle boots from Steven by Steve Madden, and a jacket from Gap.
I was not able to get a picture of my outfit on Thursday so Jordan took a couple pictures on Friday. the only thing that is different is my jacket. On Thursday I wore a short grey jacket from Gap but the weather on Friday called for something else so I decided to wear a jacket from H&M. While we were wandering around we stopped into this gallery that had this great white room with an almost rainbow colored sculpture type thing, I thought I should have my picture next to it so I could have a Pride picture! Hopefully Jordan and I will make it back to the West Village in time to catch some of the Pride Parade. I have a feeling that this year might be crazier than ever... for one particular, amazing and lovely reason (I am sure we all know what I am talking about!)! My apartment looks right onto Christopher Street! Okay back to studying! Later!

Kut Out (outfit inspired by Ksubi's film Kolors)

On Sunday Jordan and I went to the Opening Ceremony sample sale. I picked up some white nylon leg wear from the Japanese brand Toga Archives. I am a little obsessed with them (beyond obsessed). They were the perfect touch for my Ksubi inspired outfit.

Top: American Apparel; Pants: Citizens of Humanity; Socks: Toga Archives; Ankle Boots: Steven by Steve Madden;

Prada shoes

Do you remember the season that these Prada shoes are from? I do and I can remember feeling like having a pair was a totally necessary thing. They are so 'that season Prada' that I hardly have worn them, which is silly because I have never cared what season something is from and why should I start? Especially with this pair of shoes, I still think that they are beyond cool!

Top: Dress from American Apparel; Skirt: T by Alexander Wang; Cardigan and Shoes: Prada; Bracelet: Hermès;

Saturday Morning

Yesterday morning Jordan and I decided to stop into a coffee shop near the East side studio and grab a latte and a soy latte before we started working. It was a little scary as I do not trust every soy latte that comes my way and usually we just grab them from Balthazars but I have to say I was not disappointed. If I knew the name of the shop I would tell you but it was not written anywhere. Oh well.. Back to work! Later!

Friday

IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING A LONG DESCRIPTION OF FRIDAY HERE IS THE ABRIDGED VERSION: We went out to do a shoot and it turned into a long walk all over lower Manhattan. I stopped and changed into a black maxi dress from American Apparel and I got a slight tan.

THE UNABRIDGED VERSION: On Friday we headed out to do a quick shoot for the magazine, but being us we somehow ended up doing something completely different. We ended up going on one of our usual unplanned walks. I will tell you where we went: First we walked through Nolita and into China Town. We stopped into Opening Ceremony (the red staircase) along the way. We walked through China Town almost to the west side, then decided after all of that craziness that we were in no mood for Soho madness and we kept walking south. We found ourselves in Tribeca where we decided to head East to the Brooklyn Bridge because I have never actually visited it (I know I know I have lived here for three years now, but it is a little out of the way). We stopped in the Bridge Cafe to get drinks and fries, and then headed to the South Street Seaport because we were practically there already. We walked along the water for a little while and then headed back. The pictures are posted chronologically and if it not a picture of Jordan then he took it.
Because we were shooting I stopped into American Apparel along the way to change out of the shoot clothes and into a black cotton maxi dress. Unfortunately I think I am going to age 20 years now because I was not wearing sunscreen on my arms and I got a little color (I have not stepped out into the sun without sunscreen on since I was 15 so we were both a little shocked).

You're so LA cool and I am California dreaming

I was looking for a grey jersey skirt forever, I was so happy to find one that I liked while I was at home last week. I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of it!

Shoes: Frye;
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs;

Hot Summer Dayz

I am on break in between the summer classes. Six hours of class, three days a week on beautiful warm days (hopefully the weather will stay this lovely) is beyond horrible but it is only for a month (and five days) right? I wish Parsons offered Summer classes, FIT is a little out of my comfort zone... a school with a campus in NYC, what?? I think anything above 17th street seems kind of out of the way. Either way, here is my outfit from yesterday. My romper (which I thought was a dress when I got it... I am not much of a romper girl) is from Urban Outfitters, my ankle boots are from Frye, and my bag is Marc by Marc Jacobs. Alright, I have to stay positive! I hope Jordan is having a good time at work! Magazine meetings will carry on tomorrow.

Being weird is always in style

I forgot to post this before I went home, Jordan took these pictures the evening before I left I think. Either way, like everyone else in this world I am weird (which I think means being weird is extremely stylish... except if it is the extreme make other people uncomfortable weird) and I have a problem where I never find the time to take off my shoes when I get home but I also find it extremely disgusting when people wear their shoes while they are on their beds. I love my bed and you will usually find me sprawling across my bed with my feet (probably in ankle boots) hanging off of the side, or laying on my stomach with my feet up, or sometimes I get really out of control and I just lie on my back with my feet in the air (I am weird I know). Here is an example. The grey cashmere cardigan is from Club Monaco, the lace shorts are from American Apparel, and the ankle boots are from Steven by Steve Madden.
