LF Top William Rast Shorts and Opening Ceremony Shoes

Lately my wardrobe consists mostly of basics with the exception of a few more formal but still lightweight garments like this top from LF. Today I paired it with my favorite pair of denim shorts from William Rast and shoes from Opening Ceremony.

Vans Half Cabs

Jordan was lucky enough to find these Vans Half Cabs that he wanted on sale. They were the last pair and they just happened to be in his size. I love finds like that!

Juicy Couture Black Leather Vest and Vintage Belt: Easy Rider Meets Cyborg

Yesterday, around midday Jordan and I decided that we would wander over to the High Line later in the afternoon so we could see the second part.

Before we left I changed into a tight black dress from American Apparel (a little too blatant as just a dress, I prefer it as a foundation piece if anything, but it can work from time to time if I pretend I am wearing a dress from Wolford), and I threw on a beaded vintage belt (that my Mum's lovely friend was kind of enough to send me) that I have been wanting to wear since I got it. After slipping on a pair of black Suede ankle boots from Stevens I realized that I was still channeling Easy Rider (if you can remember back to my Easy Rider post) and I decided that my feminine-yet-structured black leather vest from Juicy Couture could only add to the look so I unzipped it off the hanger and let it rest on my shoulders.

When we got to the High Line (which looks a little like a scene from a science fiction novel) I began to feel more like a cyborg than any character from Easy Rider. Instantly I had slipped into my new persona and when we reached the end of the High Line I was ready to shoot my outfit. We found this building that had gold paneling and decided it would make the perfect backdrop.

I thought I would mention that Jordan does not follow me around with a camera, in fact usually I am following him around while he takes pictures of things that are not related to me. Ever since I have met Jordan he has been taking photographs with his 1,000 cameras, it was not until last summer and the start of the magazine (and then the blog) that he actually even started really taking pictures of me. You can see his lovely photography on his somewhat new photo diary: Mindless Carbonation.

Clothing, Shoes, Jewelry

In my overnight bag

Jordan and I are often going in between the West Village and the East Village, and rarely do we ever have a plan for how long we will be staying. This means never knowing how much to pack and hoping that I will have enough clothing to last me! I have a few things on the east side like a stash of Goldwell products, a hair drier, some jackets, a spare pair of heels for styling, etc., but I do not like the idea of having my wardrobe spread between two places and I also do not like the idea of having a selection of things that I do not really feel like wearing on the East Side. This means having to pack and unpack all the time (or buying two of everything).

Okay packing and unpacking is not efficient (especially when we are carrying clothing for shoots in addition), but it does allow me to see what my favorite items of clothing are! Back to packing to head back to the West Village! Later!

I wonder if Flying Lotus liked my outfit

Tonight I was supposed to go with Jordan to see Shlohmo and others but once again we decided that I should stay in and study for a test that I have on Monday. I thought I would take a break and do an outfit post.
On Thursday Jordan and I went to Brooklyn to see Flying Lotus, which was amazing. Thursday afternoon I was a little freaked out because I had no idea what to wear to a show in Brooklyn when there was a chance of rain on a hot day. Finally after a couple of outfits and I decided on a top from Rag & Bone, a pair of black Hudson jeans (I made a last minute decision and changed into cotton shorts when I was getting ready), ankle boots from Steven by Steve Madden, and a jacket from Gap.
I was not able to get a picture of my outfit on Thursday so Jordan took a couple pictures on Friday. the only thing that is different is my jacket. On Thursday I wore a short grey jacket from Gap but the weather on Friday called for something else so I decided to wear a jacket from H&M. While we were wandering around we stopped into this gallery that had this great white room with an almost rainbow colored sculpture type thing, I thought I should have my picture next to it so I could have a Pride picture! Hopefully Jordan and I will make it back to the West Village in time to catch some of the Pride Parade. I have a feeling that this year might be crazier than ever... for one particular, amazing and lovely reason (I am sure we all know what I am talking about!)! My apartment looks right onto Christopher Street! Okay back to studying! Later!

Inspiration from our tumblr

I had planned on going to Flying Lotus with Jordan tonight but I have a test tomorrow so we figured I should stay in and study. And I should be studying, but as usual when it comes to these sorts of situations I find myself taking blogging breaks. Either way, here are some images from our Tumblr (which acts as our online mood board), these images are also from some of my favorite blogs. If you have not already been to these blogs then you are seriously missing out, they are all extremely lovely (this does not include our tumblr url, I just do not know where the last photo is from. Source?), I linked them below! Okay, back to studying, later!

Black Leather Quilted Dior Bag

Being weird is always in style

I forgot to post this before I went home, Jordan took these pictures the evening before I left I think. Either way, like everyone else in this world I am weird (which I think means being weird is extremely stylish... except if it is the extreme make other people uncomfortable weird) and I have a problem where I never find the time to take off my shoes when I get home but I also find it extremely disgusting when people wear their shoes while they are on their beds. I love my bed and you will usually find me sprawling across my bed with my feet (probably in ankle boots) hanging off of the side, or laying on my stomach with my feet up, or sometimes I get really out of control and I just lie on my back with my feet in the air (I am weird I know). Here is an example. The grey cashmere cardigan is from Club Monaco, the lace shorts are from American Apparel, and the ankle boots are from Steven by Steve Madden.
