An LV Sort of Day

Today is officially LV day. Here is an outtake from our "Lady Who Lunches" shoot with style shout out. More photos are also available in our latest issue.

Epi is Magic

Source: fashion-style

If you didn't get on the LV fashion train this morning then hopefully this will help you find your way: my outfit inspiration of the day comes from the Louis Vuitton 'Epi is Magic' campaign, which features Claire Courtin-Clarins. Like the Candy bags from Furla, these ones are sure to give you a 'glow'.

Louis Vuitton vs. Stuart Weitzman

I've been in love with these ultra feminine pastel heels, complete with a silver toe cap, from Louis Vuitton since I saw them in the German Vogue I accidentally bought (I thought it was British Vogue). Like many of my Louis Vuitton fashion love affairs, every garment and accessory from the last two collections, they are just dreams that I do not expect (and for that matter, to an extent, care) to come true. I guess not being able to obtain them (it's a matter of being fiscally responsible, even though cost divided by wear time would totally prove worth it) is the price I pay for endless inspiration. Also, occasionally there is a reasonably priced 'inspired by' version that is completely worth it. This pair of Stuart Weitzman heels is a perfect example. You can get them here!

Silk and Cashmere

Usually I am not opposed to the idea of wearing black and brown together but the thought of wearing my black faux leather pants with my brown leather bomber actually makes me cringe. So when I was getting dressed, after I had put on this grey cashmere jumper, I found myself in an overly dramatic state of horror. I wanted to collapse, how could I go on?! I definitely was not going to spend the day with the black faux leather and brown leather combination that I previously mentioned and I was not willing to spend the day freezing either. In addition to that, I recently discovered that I do not have the greatest collection of jackets and this incident only made it feel smaller. However, my state of horror was short lived, I remembered that silk and cashmere together make a natural insulator and with that note in mind I was ready to go.

Missoni for Target: the online shopping expierience

Missoni for Target Dress and leggings

Like many people, I too experienced the greatest internet crash of 2011 (kidding), a crisis that left the nation in a state of confusion. A state of frustration, where the only thing to do was to wait it out, wait for some answers, press refresh, and consistently check Twitter. Everyone was in a state of anger, not me though, not this girl.

There was no true reason for me to get mad. That morning I accidentally woke up too early, there was no plan to even logon, but in my sleep deprived state I somehow remembered that today was the day. Then without realizing it I found myself in the middle of a nightmare even though I had just gotten up. After more time than I should have allowed, I closed the window. Target's website had crashed just as I was about to checkout. Even though I had everything that I wanted in my cart and even though I knew that there would be nothing left in my size, if there was anything left at all when I logged back on later that day, I knew it was pointless to get mad.

When I logged back on in the evening it was only to check to see if the site was working, I had no intention of buying anything. The site was working, and just as I predicted, there was nothing left in my size. Then I had a realization: I was forgetting the children's section of Missoni for Target. I ended up getting everything I had wanted, including these leggings that I had not even planned on getting originally.

When I got the package I realized that the leggings match the dress and together they create a perfect traveling outfit. So next time you see me at the train station or at the airport, unless I have gotten that pair of cashmere pants from net-a-porter, there is a pretty good chance I will be wearing this! Later!

Clothing, Shoes, Jewelry

In my overnight bag

Jordan and I are often going in between the West Village and the East Village, and rarely do we ever have a plan for how long we will be staying. This means never knowing how much to pack and hoping that I will have enough clothing to last me! I have a few things on the east side like a stash of Goldwell products, a hair drier, some jackets, a spare pair of heels for styling, etc., but I do not like the idea of having my wardrobe spread between two places and I also do not like the idea of having a selection of things that I do not really feel like wearing on the East Side. This means having to pack and unpack all the time (or buying two of everything).

Okay packing and unpacking is not efficient (especially when we are carrying clothing for shoots in addition), but it does allow me to see what my favorite items of clothing are! Back to packing to head back to the West Village! Later!

No I am not from Sweden I am just a little obsessed

If you want to know what a day in the life of the DMM team looks like it kind of looks like this. We just wish we were more Swedish in the way that we carried on. Scandinavians seem to have everything figured out, we wouldn't mind a tip or two...

Camp out for Swedish candy

On Sunday evening after the shoot, we pulled ourselves together and went back to the West Village. As we packed up we took some pictures. I am wearing my new black blazer and a top from H&M, my black skinny cigarette style pants from Marc by Marc Jacobs, and heels from Christian Louboutin. Jordan is wearing a shirt from Yves Saint Laurent, pants from Rag & Bone, and shoes from Louis Vuitton.

I talk nicely to them and try to get them to come closer

Tuesday looked like this. It was beautiful and sunny but still chilly. Everyone in the city seems to be over the cold. Now it is raining again, which is lovely when you are inside but it seriously makes choosing outfits beyond difficult.

Saturday Update

A good part of today was spent working on the next issue of DM with Jordan. We are packing up to head over to his apartment to do some shoots and probably drift around Soho tomorrow.
I have been bad about uploading pictures from everyday life, but I have been taking pictures! Here are some pictures from the last three days.
My new jumper from LF. I am not entirely sure I would wear it out on the street but I do think it is rather cute.
Jordan got me the new 10 magazine, Afrojack Vinyl, and somethings from Agent Provocateur for my birthday (thank you to him!).
I have a slight obsession with Diptyque candles (here are a few from my collection). I also have a slight obsession with Plum Sykes. Okay I am lying, I am completely obsessed with both Diptyque and Sykes.

I have been going for a more refined look lately. I am not sure why. I love the way the clean, more professional look goes with my new pair of Litas.
Oxford: Ralph Lauren Kids
Jeans: Hudson
Vest: Gap
Overnight Bag: Louis Vuitton
Whistle: Best Made Co.
(Shoes: My new Jeffrey Campbell Litas)

My goal is take more outfit pictures along with everyday pictures. Hopefully Jordan is on board!

Mobile Uploads

Although we have been taking photographs like crazy, I am posting the recent pictures I have taken with my Blackberry. This is because we have a rule that if a picture is made public it can no longer be used in our magazine. I have two smaller cameras that I am going to start using for blogging reasons. For now here is a little look at what I have been up to.
Makeup that I ordered. Cleanser and translucent powder from Shiseido; lipstick, concealer, touche éclat, and blush from Yves Saint Laurent; double wand mascara and liquid eyeliner from Guerlain.
My new pair of Lita shoes from Jeffrey Campbell
Me estate side before a shoot/interview that I did. I am happy to say that I can fit my laptop and camera into my new LV overnight bag and still have plenty of space left for one or two outfits and my overnight things.
Jeans: Hudson
Shirt: Button up oxford from Ralph Lauren
Vest: Gap
Jacket: Mine
(Shoes: My new Litas!)
My poodle Count Hans Axel von Fersen! So handsome!
A sketch that a man I was sitting next to on the train back to the city did of me.
My new Moroccan hair mask that I love.
