I never actually read Lucky, the magazine or their website, but earlier today I was looking through blogs, which as usual got me linking (bad word play I know) and somehow I ended up on their website's beauty section (which I actually found to be entertaining). While I was in that terribly time consuming 'website beauty section' situation of going through galleries showing beauty products with titles like: Makeup Tips Everyone Should Know/10 Best Products/etc. I read something that I related to: 'The hairstylist/aesthetician/manicurist who spends [his/her] time trashing the job the last person did on you is the hairstylist/aesthetician/manicurist you need to replace, stat. Truly talented people focus on bringing out the best in you, not telling you what's wrong with you.' Now it could just be me who has been in this situation but I think Lucky makes a good point!

No I am not from Sweden I am just a little obsessed
If you want to know what a day in the life of the DMM team looks like it kind of looks like this. We just wish we were more Swedish in the way that we carried on. Scandinavians seem to have everything figured out, we wouldn't mind a tip or two...

three beauty buys that are worth spending your money on
1. Shiseido products
- Shiseido is one of those brands that I am a little addicted to. Their skin care lines and makeup are all fine for sensitive skin, they have a skin care line for every type of skin, and many of their foundations and powders contain SPF for added sun protection.
2. Clarins products
- Clarins is the master of sun care. I know you have probably heard a thousand times how important it is to use sun screen, but honestly it is! I have been using sunscreen everyday, rain or shine, since I was 15. Did you know that you lose 80% of your skins elasticity before the age of 20 due to sun damage?
3. Magazines (foreign ones too)
- Magazines give the best make up tips/reviews and the best part is you can tear out your favorite tips or products and create your own beauty book perfectly tailored for you! If you get foreign magazines you get even more beauty tips/tricks/advice/reviews (the same goes for fashion and style tips).
Oh and I got some new Shiseido bronzer.... I know I am late to the whole brozer thing so wish me luck! Thankfully Bergdorfs did a tutorial recently on it. You can read it here.

Other pictures from Monday

Non outfit related pictures from Monday include Jordan on our walk back to the West Village. The Flowers that he got for the shoot. We bought them at this little flower shop that I love. It is outside a bodega on 6th and 2nd ave. The lady makes the most beautiful little arrangements, this is a close favorite of mine. The pink and the green I love. I think she uses lemon leaf too, which smells so nice. I was excited that we picked up new flowers but carrying them arount the city was slightly embarrassing, I think everyone thought we were on a first date. A copy of Elle I picked up on the way back (which felt a little weird seeing as I never buy the American version of Elle or any other version... with the exception of a recent purchase of the UK version...) and when we got back I decided that I should organize some of the magazines that were lying around.

04042011
Monday was quietly spent working on the magazine while jordan was at work. When he came back he cleaned off his desk and I worked there, because working at a desk makes me feel like I am doing something that is ultra important. either way, I wore this beyond soft maxi length dress from American Apparel, it is the perfect dress for staying at home.

Saturday Update

Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Jeans: Hudson Jeans
Sunglasses: Oliver Peoples

We spent Saturday in Soho mostly. I woke up and got my hair blown out and then when I got back we decided to go and wait in line for Fashion Girls for Japan. After we headed over to Bloomingdales where it was absolutely out of control because there was a sale or something. When we got back we worked on the magazine.
Friday in Soho
On Friday Jordan met me in Soho after he finished work. He was nice enough to come with me to all of the stores I had to go to.
I picked up some new underwear from Victoria's Secret
I found one of the last of Vogue Paris from the Carine days
When we got back to his apartment Jordan found a letter in the mail. I thought it was lovely so I took a picture of it.

Sunday Style
Jordan and I spent the day working. We got a little delayed going to his apartment last night and did not end up leaving until this afternoon (oops!). Jordan took a picture of my outfit from this morning for my 'today I'm wearing' goal.
In my head it is a total 'getting things done on a Sunday' sort of look because it gives of a 'I went to yoga in heels' vibe.
The truth is I do not even do yoga, so dressing like I do sophisticated things like going to yoga on Sunday (which is truly a sign of sophistication in my opinion seeing as I do not really find yoga appealing, and people who go to yoga on a Sunday, or who go to yoga at all have some sort of willpower that I just do not have) makes me feel like I am going to get things done.
Jumper: H&M
Leggings: Citizens of Humanity
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (I am slightly obsessed)

I looked through some photos and had a diet coke this morning. I ordered one and they delivered three in glass bottles.
Jordan worked while I finished packing up the suitcase for the shoot.

I went into Soho and picked up a few things for the shoot as well as the new British Vogue. I am excited to read it!

Saturday Update
A good part of today was spent working on the next issue of DM with Jordan. We are packing up to head over to his apartment to do some shoots and probably drift around Soho tomorrow.
I have been bad about uploading pictures from everyday life, but I have been taking pictures! Here are some pictures from the last three days.

My new jumper from LF. I am not entirely sure I would wear it out on the street but I do think it is rather cute.
Jordan got me the new 10 magazine, Afrojack Vinyl, and somethings from Agent Provocateur for my birthday (thank you to him!).
I have a slight obsession with Diptyque candles (here are a few from my collection). I also have a slight obsession with Plum Sykes. Okay I am lying, I am completely obsessed with both Diptyque and Sykes.
I have been going for a more refined look lately. I am not sure why. I love the way the clean, more professional look goes with my new pair of Litas.
Oxford: Ralph Lauren Kids
Jeans: Hudson
Vest: Gap
Overnight Bag: Louis Vuitton
Whistle: Best Made Co.
(Shoes: My new Jeffrey Campbell Litas)
My goal is take more outfit pictures along with everyday pictures. Hopefully Jordan is on board!
