Issue 7 Cover (ft. my new Jason Wu x Target dress, a total Wu boost!)

Here is the cover for our upcoming issue! It wasn't until last night that we finalized the image. Hopefully you like it! Either way, as you know, this past week has been terribly busy for not only us but for seemingly everyone else in this city. Fashion week really is as exhausting as everyone makes it out to be! It feels like there should be a world-wide fashion holiday for a week where we all just go shopping, make moodboards, get sleep and read about something other than Rodarte and Marc Jacobs on twitter. You know all of the boring things that would actually drive me crazy. Instead, fashion week just keeps traveling, from one city to the next, from collection to collection: pre-seasons/RTW/Haute Couture... A/W, S/S, menswear... resort, somehow it all works out and makes sense. I swear Marc Jacobs and Karl Lagerfeld do not sleep and are taking that faux research chemical in that movie Limitless. While we are not traveling from one fashion capitol to the next, we are constantly working, especially right now! Sorry if we are not the best at responding to emails and messages at the moment, we promise to respond as soon as we can! Hugs!

Gold Essentials

I am excited to announce that Sophie, a model for our next issue, is now officially blogging with us here at Dress Me! You may have noticed that her blog, Gold Essentials, has been added to our main navigation bar. I love hanging out with and talking to Sophie so it isn't surprising that reading about her and her life is both extremely interesting and enjoyable. We are so happy to have her here! Also, let's not fail to mention she is a damn good model who I loved working with (I loved working with Elena as well, she modeled with Sophie in the freezing cold for us without any complaint, seriously beyond perfect)!

Inspiration from our tumblr

I had planned on going to Flying Lotus with Jordan tonight but I have a test tomorrow so we figured I should stay in and study. And I should be studying, but as usual when it comes to these sorts of situations I find myself taking blogging breaks. Either way, here are some images from our Tumblr (which acts as our online mood board), these images are also from some of my favorite blogs. If you have not already been to these blogs then you are seriously missing out, they are all extremely lovely (this does not include our tumblr url, I just do not know where the last photo is from. Source?), I linked them below! Okay, back to studying, later!

Estate Side Photo Diary

Over the weekend Jordan and I headed up north to estate side. Before we left we decided we would do a shoot so we brought a suitcase with all of the looks, shoes, accessories, cameras, etc. The first night was spent wandering around outside as the sun went down looking for places to shoot. Like most of the time spent outside, this adventure resulted in an outfit shoot. My outfit consisted of a top from Free People, grey shorts, and a pair of a size too big Doc Martins that my Father had put in my room for me. He had texted me to tell me earlier in the week to tell me that he had found them so I was excited to try them on. They are just as big and clunky as I imagined. They are perfect for wandering around outside. The next day we did the shoot. We were lucky enough to be able to shoot with the same model that we shot with last time I went estate side, and the photographer from the previous shoot even shot our last look (you will read about them in the next issue)! Jordan shot the other outfits (and David Biral even took a few shots. We are so lucky!) and everything looks amazing! I am excited to see both shoots in the upcoming issues. A big thanks to everyone who was involved!

East Side Studio

The rest of today is being spent editing photos and working on the next issue of the magazine. Here is a picture of the east side DMM studio where we are working. There is a lot more space to style and hang garments so we tend to do a lot of our shooting here, if you live in this area you may have even see us on the street! Okay back to work!

N Y C you there

These photos were taken using a Canon point and shoot that has been modified to shoot infrared. But what we are really trying to say is that the DMM Team will be venturing out of the NYC offices for a little over a week. Jordan is heading west to L.A. and I am heading up north to Vermont. Jordan will be doing field research in addition to meet with some of contributors while I will be styling, shooting, and blogging. In fact I will be keeping a photo diary and will be doing a lot of blogging.

See you soon Manhattan! We will miss you!

xx

Saturday and Elin Kling

On Saturday morning Jordan and I went to get a latte and a soy latte at Balthazars. On the way there I ran into/met Elin Kling who is quite nice and beyond pretty. It was the first time I have ever been star struck I think. I was in so much shock I probably seemed completely weird... très ew. But it did not last long, soon Jordan and I were back to drifting our way into Soho in need of lattes.
I wore my american flag tank, jeans from J Brand, and Marc by Marc Jacobs leopard print flats.

Organization

I did something the other day that made me feel Martha Stewart Organized: I took polaroids of my shoes and put them on the shoe boxes. Most of my shoes are in those clear plastic bins (no polaroids needed) but somehow I have filled more than 20 of them. Rather than buying more clear plastic shoe boxes I decided to put some of my box-less shoes in the leftover boxes from a recent shopping trip.
I still need more boxes for several other pairs of shoes so I can only actually feel half MS organized.

Chic New York City Sunrise

New York at sunrise is probably one of my favorite times. I love the feeling of having the whole day ahead of you (which you get when you have slept). I wanted to greet the morning the proper way by showing off a brand new outfit that I threw together (rather sleepily). Thank you Jordan for coming with me to the top of your building.
Ps. Sorry for the blog trendy pictures of Jeffrey Campbell wedges I keep posting. It is just that they are honestly some of the most comfortable pairs of wedges I have ever owned (I recommend buying a pair for anybody who like wearing wedges).
