I'd like to be wearing

Mariel Bennett and Jordan Romanoff @ Dress Me Mag
Do not ask my why, I know it is not the most weather appropriate look but currently I would like to be wearing this. The color pallet and mixtures of fabrics and textures looks cozy. Perfect for the train ride that Jordan and I are currently on. The CALYPSO St. Barth vest is kind of random seeming, but like I said before the weather is cold and apparently snowy so the outfit kind of calls for a jacket with more substance than this one from Alexander Wang. The vest seemed to be the only solution. I know the shoes, also from Alexander Wang, are not exactly snow proof either but I balanced that out with the fur cuff from Wendy Nichol and cashmere bottoms from Vince. It is fashion math. The top is from Miu Miu and the bag is from Prada.

Alexander Wang Fall 2011 Ad Campaign

Have you seen the new Alexander Wang Fall 2011 Ad Campaign yet? This one is not my personal favorite but it is amusing and Raquel Zimmermann looks amazing!

Watch it!

Prada shoes

Do you remember the season that these Prada shoes are from? I do and I can remember feeling like having a pair was a totally necessary thing. They are so 'that season Prada' that I hardly have worn them, which is silly because I have never cared what season something is from and why should I start? Especially with this pair of shoes, I still think that they are beyond cool!

Top: Dress from American Apparel; Skirt: T by Alexander Wang; Cardigan and Shoes: Prada; Bracelet: Hermès;

This morning

Today Jordan and I each bought something from the net-a-porter and Mr. Porter sales. We got same day delivery and our packages arrived sometime around 4 30. I wish every place coud do same day delivery! Okay, no more shopping for us!

You Don't Have to Spend a Fortune to be Chic

You cannot buy style, in fact you should spend as little money as you have to. An easy and essential part of being stylish is knowing that dressing head-to-toe in designer for your everyday outfits can look a little unnatural. An easy way to prevent this is to dress High/Low. Dressing High/Low means incorporating your foundation items or items the you have spent a small fortune on (high) with the less expensive items (low) that are in your wardrobe. Spend money on the essentials or the occasional frivolous buy rather than on the replaceable basics or seasonal items.
I made an example: An H&M top (low), a pair of J Brand jeans (low), an oversized blazer by Alexander Wang (high), Jeffrey Campbell wedges (low), and a Mulberry bag (high).
High/Low is beyond easy and useful, if you are not dressing high/low already try it this week! Happy Monday!
