Glo-fi dream-pop

On Sunday Jordan and I wandered over to Soho to get lattes from Balthazar. I am addicted to their soy lattes. They are a source of faux optimism I swear. We drank our lattes and ate pastries in front of the Crosby Street Hotel (much better then sitting in front of the Balthazar bakery).
It was so warm out, it truly felt like Spring.

Black dress: H&M

Inspiration: red, cream, black, fur

Current inspiration: this red/black/brownish/ look from Pringle of Scotland

Although this look may be from Pringle's a/w collection, I do not think that the color palate should be intended to only be worn in fall. In fact the color scheme has been haunting me since the Balmain s/s11 show. Here is my take on it: day and night.
Day time look
Dress: American Apparel
Jumper and blazer: H&M
Ankle boots: Steven by Steve Madden
Night time look
Top: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Jeans: J Brand
Shoes: Marc Jacobs
Fur hat: vintage Lord & Taylor

Thursday

My parents came up on Wednesday so I have not been posting. I did take loads of pictures. Here are pictures from Thursday. One of which shows my lovely new leopard print gentleman's slippers that I have been coveting. It was beautiful out!

Missoni Knit Dress

I am a little bit in love with this dress despite the fact that it is completely see through. I am still deciding if it would make the perfect spring/summer addition to my wardrobe. I love Missoni. I want to decorate my apartment in Missoni. I just am not sure if this dress will last me past this season and if I will wear it enough. Maybe if it was not totally see through…

Marc Jacobs Cashmere Top Jil Sander Pants Jeffrey Campbell Wedges : white and black

Top: Marc Jacobs; Pants: Jill Sander; Wedges: Jeffrey Campbell. I think this look is the perfect everyday look for sprint. It is très elegant and chic. I love it. The shoes of course could be swapped out with many options a a little leopard print would not hurt (It is hard for me to not include leopard print in an outfit).

Sasha Pivovarova: on set with Sasha & learn the secrets to Baltic bliss

My dose of chic inspiration for the day is Sasha Pivovarova and her seemingly easy going personality. Similar to our love Natalia Vodianova, she always seems to be full off positive vibes, except she seems to be a little bit more wild than Nata. I need to channel more of the Sasha/Nata mindset.
While I am working on bringing out my inner baltic positiveness (and for the record DMM is founded by two people with Baltic heritage, one of the two being Moi of course, so I feel like it could come to me naturally. I am hoping it will at least), I am also doing this (I will let sasha show you what I am doing):
I am waiting to style and then shoot our last images for Dress Me Issue N‰2:

Step one of that process is waiting for my nails to dry:
Step two: Getting my hair done.
Step three: make up.

Step four: Plan and refer back to mood boards for shoot.

Time to shoot:

Snowy NYC is perfect for doing work (it is the Baltic inside of moi)
